I am a woman of many interests. I like art, science & history. I'm not sure how they would combine for a degree that I could use to get a job. Maybe teaching?(scary thought)
I am a member in the SCA. Check out sca.org . The S.C.A. is a not-for-profit educational organization that does medieval recreations.
I am in two "Houses" in the SCA. Locally I am currently chairperson in "House Bloodstone". Bloodstone has about forty members, mostly in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Tho we do have some that have wandered. There is one in Penn. A couple in Oklahoma City, one of my best friends. And at least one down in Austin. My other House is "Wicked Thunder". Wicked is based in Oklahoma City, Ok. It is a part of the Federated Clans of Rolling Thunder. A large group of people that often play in the SCA, but also have their own events.
I go to small ren-faires in the north & central regions of Texas. I also do some events in west Texas & a few in Oklahoma. I can't sell in OK. yet. But I can network & show catalogs for later orders.
One of the reasons I started to carry bellydance jewelery and dance belts is because of learning to dance in the SCA. Having learned to make my own costumes, I am now going to start making 'dance bras' to sell in my shop.
Also since I am starting to get into archery, both combat(now) & target archery(soon I hope), in the Society, I may eventually carry bows and accessories to sell.
